STICKERAWARDS WINNERS 2009

Thanks folks for being so patient,
this time it took us very long to determine the winners of the annual international sticker awards (www.stickeraward.net) because we were planning to have a live jury debate at Version Festival 10 in Chicago in May but due to the volcano ash problem in Europe our flight was cancelled last minute. So we had to go through the used jury procedure instead of the live event which caused the delay and are now able to present the winners to you! This year we had a massive number of excellent submissions – it seems the great number of rookies who used to send nearly everything near to a sticker to the awards have been distracted this time and only the people who are in love with the medium of some time have attended. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT! We were nearly about to stop the whole project simply because of the lack of quality – but you turned the wheel again and so the new awards will be open from juni 30th for your submissions. And as we said, we do have the winners right here:

Yes people,
the second edition of our klebstoff magazin is avaible now – you can order online or via your local bookstore using the ISBN 978-3-940418-43-2. We asked 24 international designers and artists again to create a collection of their best sticker work and finally we made it to raise enough money to pay for the print. there is a preview also online.

D21 is a space for contemporary art in Leipzig/Germany and will show an exhibition on contemporary ArtZines from Europe and beyond in May 2010. Our new Klebstoff Issue will be part of the show and we plan to do a little release show there in mid May. Stay tuned for details – well post them here or check their website: www.d21-leipzig.de

On march 2nd our klebstoff magazine was part of a dedicated magazine fair & exhibition which was organised by GUTE SEITEN host Alain Bieber in KUNSTVEREIN HAMBURG. He invited several selfmade and independent projects from the mag scene in Germany who have a certain artistic background. find more pix and txt here …

Welcome folks,
you did it again! We received a great number of your interventions in public space and the jury is ready for its judgement to determine the winners in january 2010 … for this occasion we are preparing a new sticker awards gallery show right now … Our next award will be open for submissions from MAY 20TH 2010 to August 30TH 2010. Meanwhile we finished our new stickerawards book STICKERS 2 which is available right now and everyone who took part will get a free copy !!! AND: we created a magazine consisting completly of sticker material which hosts 24 artists with over 100 stickers.

If you want to be part of the next Klebstoff issue or our book “Stickers 2″ which we release in autum, please submit pictures of your works to the running award, we always select the artists from there …
